Polycarbonate has been around for many years and has always been considered "cheap" in looks and obviously, price.
That has changed in many ways and now manufacturers offer many styles that mimic their wood counterparts.
They do have their limitations however, and we do not recommend them for very large pieces of art and most mirrors.
Generally these are used for large commercial applications.
