MATS...

Mats come in a very wide variety of colors and shades. 


The standard size, suitable for most art pieces, being 32" x 40". Oversized mats 40" x 60" are available for many mats and Xtra large mats come in very limited colors up to 60" x 104".   A custom fabric mat can be much larger.


The type of mat can vary from a non-Acid Free to very sophisticated museum mats with archival properties.


We only use Acid Free mats in our shop to prevent paper acid from staining and discoloring the art.  


Mat Core colors also can enhance an art piece without adding a second mat layer.

FABRICS...

Fabrics offer more options when it comes to color and large sized pieces.


We can create a fabric wrap around the image, float the image on top of a fabric, or even fabric cover liners and frames.



 

  • There are many options to choose from when it comes to really enhancing your piece of art.
  • Different thicknesses can enhance the art.
  • The term "ply" is used to describe thickness, ranging from a 2 ply to a much thicker 8 ply.

Fabrics

Fabrics are great when the art piece is either larger than oversized or needs a more refined, high quality look. They come in many colors and fabric types, such as polyester, cotton, silk and linen to name a few.

Color Core

Color core mats are usually usable on either side, are Acid-Free and Lignin-Free, buffered to an alkalin pH and are fade and bleed resistant.

8-ply

Color core mats are usually usable on either side, are Acid-Free and Lignin-Free, buffered to an alkalin pH and are fade and bleed resistant. Double thickness of the 4=ply gives a richer, more museum look to the art piece.

Suedes

Although this specialty fabric goes in and out of style, it remains one of the constants. Bright colors and soft texture afford the richest of all the mats.
